Privacy Policy

A legal disclaimer

The explanations and information provided on this page are only general and high-level explanations and information on how to write your own document of a Privacy Policy. You should not rely on this article as legal advice or as recommendations regarding what you should actually do, because we cannot know in advance what are the specific privacy policies you wish to establish between your business and your customers and visitors. We recommend that you seek legal advice to help you understand and to assist you in the creation of your own Privacy Policy.

Privacy Policy - the basics

Having said that, a privacy policy is a statement that discloses some or all of the ways a website collects, uses, discloses, processes, and manages the data of its visitors and customers. It usually also includes a statement regarding the website’s commitment to protecting its visitors’ or customers’ privacy, and an explanation about the different mechanisms the website is implementing in order to protect privacy.

Different jurisdictions have different legal obligations of what must be included in a Privacy Policy. You are responsible to make sure you are following the relevant legislation to your activities and location.

What to include in the Privacy Policy

Generally speaking, a Privacy Policy often addresses these types of issues: the types of information the website is collecting and the manner in which it collects the data; an explanation about why is the website collecting these types of information; what are the website’s practices on sharing the information with third parties; ways in which your visitors and customers can exercise their rights according to the relevant privacy legislation; the specific practices regarding minors’ data collection; and much, much more.

Sweet Pea is an Umbrella Cockatoo, and her vet estimates that she’s around 25 years old! She’s a high-energy, loud bird who loves barking at people and other animals. Her best friend is Copper, and together they have a blast exploring everything life has to offer.

Sweet Pea’s favorite treats are almonds and garbanzo beans. She also loves shredding cardboard boxes—or anything else she can get her beak on! She’s the queen of chaos and adores everyone she meets.

Brody is a 21-year-old Congo African Grey Parrot. He’s a very opinionated and talkative guy with plenty to say! Brody loves watching football on TV and giving commands to Copper—like “come,” “sit,” and “stay!”

He’s incredibly intelligent, knows hundreds of words, and can use them in full sentences. Like Sweet Pea, his favorite treat is almonds, and his favorite toys are empty plastic milk cartons. He especially enjoys banging them against the counter to make as much noise as possible!

Polly was born in 1967, and after her original owner passed away, she was lovingly handed down through several generations of the same family before coming to live with me. Although she suffers from some significant health issues, Polly finds joy in her friendship with Thyme. The two of them spend their days cuddling, grooming each other, and enjoying their close bond.

Polly is a fairly quiet bird, but she does love to laugh—and she still asks for crackers!

Thyme is a 7-year-old Sun Conure and has been with me her entire life. She’s a confident, well-socialized bird who has traveled on boats, airplanes, and countless road trips. Like Sweet Pea, she’s extremely loud and makes a fantastic little watch bird!

Thyme also treasures her friendship with Polly—they make an adorable and inseparable pair.
